Meet The Board
The Lake Pointe MUD is composed of a 5 member board that includes individuals from diverse backgrounds that possess a wide range of professional experience. Learn more about our board members below.
Terry Elam
Terry Elam is both a Project Manager, and a Technology and Strategy Solutions Implementor. Mr. Elam brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to any objective-focused team, having spent nearly 20 years devising, recommending, and implementing strategies and technologies for his clients.
Mr. Elam is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, an energy professional, a husband and father of three children, and has resided in Lake Pointe since 2013.
Prior to consulting Terry spent several years as an enlisted Marine and on assignment with the US State Department, wherein he served at US Embassies in both Europe and the Middle East. Terry holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University (Canada), and an Executive MBA in Energy from the University of Oklahoma.
Mr. Elam was appointed to the Lake Pointe MUD board in early 2022 and is seeking reelection in November 2022.
Jody Flaws
Jody Flaws is a financial services professional with over 25 years of experience. Mr. Flaws currently provides governance services to the alternative investment industry and is the former Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of an investment management firm. Mr. Flaws began his career in public accounting at Deloitte.
Jody Flaws joined the board of the Lake Pointe Mud in 2021. Mr. Flaws holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and he also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA).
Mr. Flaws lives in Lake Pointe with his wife and their two sons.
Jason Rew-Hunter
Jason Rew-Hunter has been a director on the Lake Pointe MUD since 2020. He holds Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University.
Previously an editor at a West Texas newspaper, Mr. Rew-Hunter has worked as an attorney in Austin for more than 10 years, focusing his practice on preserving the Constitution and protecting the rights of the criminally accused. His community involvement includes volunteering with St. David’s Episcopal Church and the Oak Hill Business and Professional Association.
Mr. Rew-Hunter lives in Lake Pointe with his wife and their two daughters.
Open Board Seat – Seeking Candidates
The Lake Pointe MUD currently has a vacancy on its 5-member board, and the district is seeking candidates for this position. Candidates must be Lake Pointe residents and be interested in helping maintain and improve the Lake Pointe community. While related experience would be an asset, no experience is required. Public board meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at the Lake Pointe Community Center. The successful candidate would also serve on subcommittees which typically meet mid-month and report back to the full board at the monthly meetings.
