Robert Salgo

Robert Salgo

In 1997 Robert Salgo and his wife moved to Lake Pointe, where they’ve since raised two children. Robert has served as president of West Travis County Municipal Utility District #3 since 2000, and he advocated strongly for the recent consolidation of the two Lake Pointe districts.

Professionally, Robert has been involved for the past 25 years in construction project management, engineering, and contract management for commercial, civil, and industrial projects. His primary focus has been project management/engineering with a special emphasis on the coordination of commissioning of life-safety systems for commercial and industrial facilities. He is especially proud of his involvement in the construction of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Frost Bank Tower.

Robert is accomplished in all areas of construction project management and engineering, including owner, consultant and subcontractor relations, preconstruction analysis, estimating and value engineering, submittal review and project document control, critical path network scheduling, and quality and cost control. He has an MS in civil engineering and undergraduate degrees in mathematics and civil engineering.

Currently, Mr. Salgo serves as plant manager for Dario Panelized Systems, a division of the Escobedo Group.

Penny Handsel

Penny joined the Lake Pointe MUD Board in April of 2021 having previously served on the MUD 3 BOD from 2000 to 2002 and Lake Pointe Homeowners Association from 1999 to 2002. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M and am currently a partner in an independent insurance agency in the Oak Hill area. Being the 15th residence in the community, she’s seen a lot of changes as we have grown to over 900! One thing that hasn’t changed is her appreciation for the community and gratitude for the wonderful amenities that we have available to us. Please join us for Board Meetings to share your interests and concerns to continue to shape the subdivision into the neighborhood you want for your family.

Jody Flaws

Jody Flaws

Jody Flaws is a financial services professional with over 25 years of experience. Mr. Flaws currently provides governance services to the alternative investment industry and is the former Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of an investment management firm. Mr. Flaws began his career in public accounting at Deloitte.

Jody Flaws joined the board of the Lake Pointe Mud in 2021. Mr. Flaws holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and he also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA).

Mr. Flaws lives in Lake Pointe with his wife and their two sons.

Jason Rew-Hunter

Jason Rew-Hunter

Jason Rew-Hunter has been a director on the Lake Pointe MUD since 2020. He holds Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University.

Previously an editor at a West Texas newspaper, Mr. Rew-Hunter has worked as an attorney in Austin for more than 10 years, focusing his practice on preserving the Constitution and protecting the rights of the criminally accused. His community involvement includes volunteering with St. David’s Episcopal Church and the Oak Hill Business and Professional Association.

Mr. Rew-Hunter lives in Lake Pointe with his wife and their two daughters.

Election Information

The District is governed by a Board of Directors, which is comprised of five members that serve staggered four-year terms. In accordance with Texas Water Code § 49.103, director elections are held on the November uniform election date, or the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, in even-numbered years. The District’s next director election will be held on November 8, 2022 at the polling places for each election precinct within the District established by Travis County.

A person that desires to be a candidate in the District’s next director election must be qualified to serve as a director and must timely submit an application for a place on the ballot to the District. To be qualified to serve as a director, a person must be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District. The first day and time that a candidate may file an application for a place on the ballot is 8:00 a.m. on the day that is 108 days before the election and the last day that a candidate may file an application for a place on the ballot is 5:00 p.m. on the day that is 78 days before the date of the election. The deadline for a declared write-in candidate to file an application is 74 days before the date of the election.

For the November 8, 2022 director election, the deadline for filing the application for a place on the ballot will be 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 and the deadline for a declared write-in candidate to file an application will be 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022. Applications may be obtained from Grayson McDaniel, The Carlton Law Firm, P.L.L.C., 4301 Westbank Drive, Suite B-130, Austin TX 78746 or an application may be downloaded and printed from the Texas Secretary of State’s website at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/index.shtml. El Distrito está gobernado por una Junta Directiva, que está compuesto por cinco miembros quienes sirven mandatos escalonados de cuatro años. De conformidad a la Sección 49.103 del Código de Agua de Texas, las elecciones de directores se llevan a cabo en la fecha uniforme de la elección de noviembre, o el primer martes de noviembre después del primer lunes de noviembre, en los años de números pares.
